Before Evolving into the "Taboo Couple"...

As of this writing, we met by chance (as we suppose many couples do) over 8 years, 5 months, 18 days, 3 hours, and... 9 minutes ago(?); then we went ahead and got married 6 years, 22 days, and... WHATEVER - the hours and minutes have orgasmically blurred through the passage of time...

Both of us are college-educated and (again, as of this writing) still maintain our "regular" professional careers. We're both highly ambitious, motivated, and goal-oriented - qualities which have resulted in our overcoming every challenge we've faced in our lives (thus far) with vigor and determination. We enjoy a fitness-oriented and drug-free lifestyle, and only drink occasionally. This is not to say that we're a "PERFECT" couple - those of you whom have gotten to know us well throughout the past few years are fully aware that although we share amazing chemistry not much unlike so many other couples, we also share a fair share of disagreements and arguments after which either or both of us have discreetly reached out to you on a rare occassion (or three); but our great sense of humor ensures that we generally do more laughing than fighting.

Looking back, there's a clear irony about the fact that I didn't experience much "variety" before I met Rob. I'd had just one intimate, long-term boyfriend in Brazil that extended into my years living in Italy where I attended university; but that relationship had ended about a year earlier after which I'd decided to focus only on my studies. I was vacationing in the U.S. with my mother whom was herself vacationing from Brazil, and she and I decided to go watch a David Copperfield performance in Atlantic City. It was a beautiful, cloudless, sunny summer day and I took a solo stroll on the Boardwalk to enjoy the ocean breeze and a few refreshments while mom prefered to enjoy the annoying ping of slot machines at one of the casinos. Just a few minutes into my walk, a small group of guys walked by hollering at a few girls. Not so much annoyed as I was amused by the guys' obvious alcohol-induced bravado, I kept watching. I couldn't help but notice that every girl the group of guys walked past seemed to be focusing their attention at just one of the guys in particular. I traced the source of all the girl's attention and that's when I first laid eyes on Rob.

Rob and I didn't hook up that afternoon; in fact, I gave him a VERY hard time. Maybe I was reverting to my high-school self playing hard-to-get, but I just wanted to make CERTAIN he wasn't just another jerk trying to play nice to get laid. He wasn't a jerk. It turns out, he didn't even try to touch me and we shared amazing conversations over a few lunches and dinners during the next week or so.

Although I didn't admit this to Rob in the beginning, I didn't return home to Italy after my mother returned to Brazil and ONLY stayed in the U.S. because I couldn't stand to leave him behind; instead, I lied and told him that I was staying with a friend in New Jersey. The result was that I spent a small fortune on hotel accommodations until I admitted about 2 weeks later why I had stayed in the U.S. and we moved in together shortly thereafter. We enjoyed a whirlwind romance for the next 5 years that included an AMAZING sex life. And so, yes, we were just your typical couple-next-door; but a little over 3 years ago, our sex lives changed forever following a night out for dinner and drinks with friends...
